Even Healthcare raises $50 million as Khosla backs its hospital model

The new funding gives Even more room to expand its owned-hospital approach in Bengaluru after early profit at two sites.

Even Healthcare has raised a $50 million Series B led by Khosla Ventures, valuing the Indian startup at $300 million and lifting total funding past $120 million. The company is trying to reverse the usual hospital incentive structure in India by paying doctors fixed salaries, tying staff rewards to outcomes, and building and operating its own hospitals instead of relying only on partners. Even says its two Bengaluru hospitals became operationally profitable within a year, it plans five more in the city over the next six months, and its reported metrics include under 1% unplanned readmissions, 40% shorter stays, and more than ₹500 million saved for insurers. The business is still loss-making, with a ₹902 million net loss in fiscal 2025 on ₹272 million in revenue, and it cut about 350 jobs in August while continuing to expand.

Why it matters

Even’s raise backs a different hospital economics model at a time when it is still losing money. For patients and insurers, the immediate signal is that its own hospitals are scaling beyond a pilot and that the company is trying to prove lower-cost, better-outcome care can work in practice rather than through partner networks alone. The next test is whether its Bengaluru expansion can keep the same results as it opens more sites.
