Google's November 2026 Android updates patch more than 200 vulnerabilities
Two rollouts cover about two dozen critical flaws, including a Framework bug that could allow remote code execution without user interaction.
Google's November 2026 Android security release patches more than 200 flaws across two rollouts, including about two dozen rated critical. The first tranche, at security patch level 2026-11-01, covers 119 issues, most in Framework (65) and System (53), with a single high-severity information disclosure fix in the Android runtime. The most serious of these is a Framework bug, CVE-2026-58868, that could allow remote code execution without extra privileges or user interaction, and Google shipped 17 of the critical System-component fixes early via Google Play system updates. The second tranche, at patch level 2026-11-05, addresses 97 bugs in the kernel and chipset components from Arm, MediaTek, Qualcomm and others, with more than a dozen critical fixes spanning Bluetooth, pKVM and HID. Google also issued separate bulletins for Android XR and Wear OS, which add their own high-severity Framework and System fixes.
Why it matters
Android users who have not installed both the 2026-11-01 and 2026-11-05 patch levels remain exposed to the critical Framework flaw and the kernel and chipset bugs fixed in the second tranche. Because Google shipped 17 critical System fixes through Google Play system updates, some protection arrives without a full OS update, which means devices that receive those updates are covered sooner than the monthly rollout would otherwise allow. The Android XR and Wear OS bulletins extend the same pattern of fixes to those platforms, so the update process now reaches beyond phones and tablets.
