OpenAI's GPT-6.1 models arrive on Google Cloud and Antigravity
Enterprise customers gain a second major cloud route to OpenAI's frontier models, while OpenAI keeps Microsoft as its main cloud partner.
Google Cloud will begin offering OpenAI's frontier models, and they will also reach Antigravity, Google's agent-driven coding tool. Enterprise customers will find the models in Google's Model Garden within weeks, where they join more than 200 existing options including Gemini, Mistral, Llama and Gemma, along with Anthropic's Claude. Google now describes itself as the only major cloud provider giving access to all three leading closed model families. OpenAI stresses that Microsoft remains its main cloud partner, even as the full GPT-6.1 lineup of Astra, Sol and Luna lands on Google Cloud. The most capable tier, Astra, is expected to be the priciest to run, while Google's platform can shift workloads between models according to speed, latency and efficiency.
Why it matters
Enterprise buyers who already run on Google Cloud can reach OpenAI's models without moving to another provider, and developers using Antigravity will see GPT models inside the coding tool. Google's platform can also switch workloads between models based on speed, latency and efficiency, so the choice of model becomes something the platform manages rather than a fixed decision. The most capable tier, Astra, is expected to be the most expensive to run, which will weigh on how organisations balance performance against cost.
