Apple has rolled out an expanded version of its Siri AI assistant in iOS 27.3, now available to developers from today. The update lets Siri carry out more involved requests inside a wide set of built-in apps, including Mail, Safari, Files and Weather. Siri is also gaining support for Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish and Norwegian. For developers, a preview program allows any app to hook into Siri AI through App Intents, exposing its own content and custom actions. A new skills feature can also chain several of those actions together into one workflow.

Why it matters

For people who use Apple devices every day, Siri can now handle more involved requests across built-in apps such as Mail, which includes unsubscribing from mailing lists and undoing recently sent messages. Support for Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish and Norwegian widens who can use the assistant in their own language. The developer preview means third-party apps can expose their content and custom actions to Siri AI, so the assistant's reach beyond Apple's own software now depends on which apps choose to take part.
