Anthropic asks Claude voice users to opt in to audio training
Claude voice users can now separately choose whether Anthropic may use their audio conversations to train its models.
Anthropic is now prompting Claude voice users to optionally let the company use their audio conversations to train its AI models, which matters because it gives customers a separate privacy control for speech data instead of bundling it with text and coding-session training. The prompt offers an Allow or Not now choice, and the same preference can be managed in Claude’s Privacy settings. The voice-training setting is off by default in the interface BleepingComputer saw, so users are not being opted in automatically. Anthropic also says people can later disable the option or delete the voice data from settings.
Why it matters
The change gives voice users a separate control for audio data instead of folding it into Anthropic’s existing training setting for chats and coding sessions. That means people using Claude’s voice features can decide later whether to keep sharing speech data, turn the option off, or delete it from settings.
