Anthropic files for Nasdaq listing under ticker ANT with founders holding majority vote

The filing shows steep revenue growth alongside a large net loss, and a governance structure that gives the founders and a trust control over the board.

Updated 27 October 2026

Anthropic has filed IPO paperwork for a Nasdaq listing under the ticker ANT, which could become the largest stock debut yet, with a valuation reportedly between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion though no final price or share count is set. Its filing reports first-half 2026 revenue above $16 billion, up roughly fourteen-fold year on year, alongside a net loss of $80.7 billion that includes a one-time $72.4 billion accounting charge tied to financing agreements. The company warns in its risk factors that advanced AI could pose catastrophic or existential risks to humanity if misused or allowed to act autonomously, while also pitching large-scale benefits in medicine and economic growth. Governance terms stand out: the founders' Founder LLC will hold 50.1 percent of shareholder votes, and an independent Long-Term Benefit Trust will appoint four of seven directors, a structure meant to keep safety ahead of profit. Investors will also be watching how much of the company's revenue depends on a small set of large enterprise customers and the rival OpenAI's planned listing.

Why it matters

For public investors, the filing shows Anthropic's revenue is concentrated in a small set of large enterprise customers, with about 250 paying at least $10 million a year and five making up a quarter of the business. Governance is also unusual: the founders' vehicle will hold 50.1 percent of votes, and a Long-Term Benefit Trust will appoint four of seven directors, which means ordinary shareholders will have limited sway over major decisions. Taken together, a listing would put a company that warns of catastrophic AI risks under the control of its founders and a trust, with its revenue tied to a few large clients.
