Apple Appears Set to Ship tvOS and macOS 27.2.1 Point Updates
The macOS fix would stop command-line tools from trusting certificates from eMudhra that have been compromised.
Apple appears to be preparing point updates for its TV and desktop platforms, following earlier testing of an iOS 27.2.1 build for iPhone. MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris found evidence of an upcoming tvOS 27.2.1 release for Apple TV. A macOS 27.2.1 update is also considered likely, with a fix aimed at stopping command-line tools from accepting web certificates issued by eMudhra that have been compromised.
Why it matters
The updates matter most to people who run macOS and rely on command-line tools to fetch and verify web content. Those tools currently accept certificates from eMudhra that have been compromised, and a macOS 27.2.1 release would stop that trust. Apple TV owners would receive a separate point update, and iPhone users may see a matching iOS 27.2.1 build. Until the fix ships, anyone on macOS is exposed to the compromised certificates.
