Apple Plans iOS 27.3 Beta to Bring Some Apple Intelligence Features to China
Only iPhone 15 Pro and newer models get the features at first, and the newest Siri and Image Playground features are left out.

Apple plans to release a first developer beta of iOS 27.3 on November 4, which is November 3 in the US, to bring some Apple Intelligence features to China. The update is limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and newer, and the features include summaries for notifications, live translation through AirPods, and writing aids. Apple has also said it will release the full version of iOS 27.3 to the public in December, though it gave no exact date for that. Siri AI and Image Playground, the newer features shown at WWDC 2026, will not be part of this launch. Apple says it has partnered with Alibaba to offer its Qwen chatbot in some experiences.
Why it matters
For iPhone owners in China, the update brings a limited set of Apple Intelligence tools that were previously unavailable there, with the rollout restricted to the newest hardware until Apple receives approval for wider access. Siri AI and the other features announced at WWDC 2026 remain out of reach for now, so the change is narrower than the headline suggests. Apple's partnership with Alibaba to offer the Qwen chatbot in some experiences shows how the company is handling local requirements in China.
