Barcelona supercomputing programme opens more access for startups

The fully running BSC AI Factory Accelerator now gives Inception member startups access to some services, widening use of Barcelona’s AI infrastructure.

Barcelona Supercomputing Center’s AI Factory Accelerator Programme is now fully running, and NVIDIA says some of its services are being exposed through the NVIDIA Inception portal for member startups. The BSC AI Factory, launched in April 2025, has already delivered more than 800 services to public and private clients, and an extension of MareNostrum 5 is planned to expand supercomputing access across European AI factories. Three Inception members were highlighted as AI Champions at the programme’s demo day: Qatium, OneCareAI and Avatia. Qatium is using MareNostrum 5-trained models for its water-network platform, OneCareAI is applying NVIDIA NIM microservices to flag hidden atrial fibrillation in normal ECGs, and Avatia has built a voice-first multi-agent system for pharmaceutical sales and doctor support.

Why it matters

This shifts the Barcelona programme from launch to active use, with startups already able to tap into services through NVIDIA Inception. It also points to broader access ahead as MareNostrum 5 is set for extension, which matters for teams relying on shared supercomputing capacity and for Europe’s wider AI factory network.
