Bitget resumes Bitcoin withdrawals after $387.5 million was transferred to attackers
Customers can move Bitcoin again, while Bitget offers a reward for help recovering or freezing funds.
Bitget has resumed Bitcoin withdrawals after its security incident, with its latest tracing putting the amount transferred to attackers at $387.5 million, up from an earlier $351.6 million tally. The exchange says it has fixed the exploited security flaw. Trading and deposits remain available, and Bitget says user funds were unaffected. It also launched a Recovery Bounty Program offering a 5% bounty for help recovering or freezing funds.
Why it matters
For customers, the practical change is that Bitcoin withdrawals are available again, after trading and deposits continued. The bounty gives people who can help recover or freeze assets a financial incentive to take part; the larger traced total means that effort now concerns more funds than Bitget first estimated.
