Google maps out 2026 Android Enterprise roadmap focused on AI and control
New AI workflow tools, unified updates, XR fleet support and added security controls aim to tighten how companies run Android at scale.
Google has outlined a 2026 roadmap for Android Enterprise that leans heavily on AI automation, tighter security, and improved fleet control for corporate deployments. Gemini will be able to drive complex, multi‑step workflows across apps using on‑screen context, while IT can centrally configure or disable these agents and enforce work/personal data separation. Android Management API–powered consoles will manage next‑generation XR hardware such as Samsung Galaxy XR headsets and XREAL Aura wired glasses (expected in Q4) alongside phones and tablets. A new Unified Update Controls framework will merge multiple Android update channels into one policy surface, with a Feedback API shipping later this year to give admins rollout telemetry. Additional security upgrades include Attestable Identifiers, deterministic reporting of Available Security Patch Level, stricter local‑network permissions, and certificate transparency checks for network security.
