Siri AI expands to five more languages in iOS 27.2 beta
The rollout is still in beta, unavailable in the EU, closed to under-13s and subject to daily usage limits on server-side features.
Apple has rolled out its 27.2 software updates, expanding its reworked Siri AI to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, which join English as supported languages. Chinese (Traditional), Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese are set to follow before the end of the year. In iOS 27.2 the assistant can now recall past conversations and draw on more sources, including photos sent in Messages, Calendar invitees and voicemails. Users can also exclude specific apps from Siri, Search and suggestions, and copy partial responses. The feature remains in beta, is unavailable in the EU on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS, is closed to users under 13, and server-side features will face daily usage limits with paid expanded access planned later.
Why it matters
For users who speak French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese or Spanish, Siri AI now works in their language on compatible Apple Intelligence devices, though the feature remains a beta. Users in the EU cannot use it on iOS, iPadOS or watchOS yet, and younger users are excluded. Daily limits on server-side features mean heavy use may be capped unless users pay for expanded access, which Apple plans to offer later. Chinese (Traditional), Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese are expected to follow before the end of the year, widening who can use the assistant.
