Bullhorn takes staffing platform offline after cyberattack

Bullhorn is restoring services after a system-wide outage and has not said when affected tools will be back.

Bullhorn has taken its staffing platform offline after a cyberattack triggered a company-wide outage, and it says it is now restoring service after isolating the incident and bringing in CrowdStrike support. The company says a forensic investigation is underway and that it has not yet determined whether any customer data was taken. Bullhorn also says customers started seeing job-posting problems on Friday, before the outage was confirmed the next day, and it has not given a restoration timetable. As part of the response, Bullhorn says non-SSO users will have to reset passwords on next login, API passwords must be rotated, and some hosted changes will be handled automatically.

Why it matters

For staffing teams, the outage means a core platform used for job posting and related work is unavailable while Bullhorn investigates and rebuilds trust in the service. The lack of a restoration timetable and the need to reset and rotate passwords also mean users have to wait for updates and take account-level action before they can sign back in.
