Google rolls out Gemini 4 Argon across Gemini app and Search
Access is limited to paid users for now, and developers get the model through the Gemini API as Google prices the launch tier and raises rates after November 30.
Google has started rolling out Gemini 4 Argon across the Gemini app, AI Mode in Search, Antigravity, and the Gemini API, with access limited to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and developers/enterprises for now. The model is aimed at harder reasoning and coding work, and Google says it responds more directly, avoids repetition and clichés, and keeps users updated during longer jobs. It is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens for the introductory period, then the rates rise after November 30. Google also says Argon is already helping internally with tasks like code refactors, bug finding, and efficiency work, and it is adding a chat-to-tasks toggle plus Antigravity’s coding interface inside the Gemini macOS app. The company says Gemini now connects with more than 40 apps, including Instacart, OpenTable, Adobe, and Shopify, so users can hand off work across other services.
Why it matters
For users, the main change is that a model aimed at harder reasoning and coding is now available in more of Google’s own products, but only for paying customers at first. For developers and enterprises, the API rollout and temporary pricing give an early window to test it, while Google’s broader app connections expand where Gemini can hand work off across services.
