Meta expands Muse with video calls, email access and Mac control
Muse is turning from a chat bot into a more autonomous assistant that can see, talk and act across your devices.
Meta is expanding its Muse AI agent beyond text chat, adding live video calling so users can talk with a customizable avatar informed by a new Muse Realtime Avatar model. Muse agents will receive their own email addresses that can both send emails to accomplish tasks and receive messages from users, turning the bot into more of an autonomous assistant. The Muse Mac app is also being upgraded so the agent can directly control your computer. Meta plans to bring Muse to its smart glasses in the coming months, enabling interactions based on what the wearer is seeing. These rapid updates follow Muse’s early success, including topping the App Store and outpacing ChatGPT mobile downloads in its first 12 days.
Why it matters
Meta is pushing Muse from a text-based helper into a more persistent assistant that sits across screens and devices. People will be able to talk to a visual avatar over live video, email tasks in and get replies, let it operate their Mac directly, and eventually use it on smart glasses to discuss what they are looking at. That shifts Muse from a simple app into something closer to an always-available agent woven into everyday tools, a direction Meta is investing in after its strong early adoption.
