Meta’s Muse can expose private chat material through shared links
Researchers found Muse sharing URLs can surface material users likely meant to keep private.
Researchers found that Meta’s Muse AI can leak private material when people share chat links, because its public URLs are easier to discover than they should be. Claroc says it enumerated 6,800 Muse sharing links and checked a few hundred of them. Those pages included material that was clearly not meant for public viewing. The issue matters because Muse is a general-purpose agent Meta has promoted as designed for privacy and security, yet its sharing mechanism can still expose sensitive conversations.
Why it matters
For people using Muse to share conversations, searches or images, the risk is that a link meant for one recipient can be found more easily than expected and reveal sensitive material. That clashes with Meta’s public message that Muse was built for privacy and security, and it makes the sharing feature itself the point of exposure rather than a simple convenience.
