ASML sees chip tool demand stretching into 2029 and 2030
Strong AI-related orders are keeping ASML booked far ahead, while higher prices are set to reach customers from 2027.
ASML said its chipmaking tools are still in heavy demand as AI infrastructure spending keeps driving orders, with customers already asking about deliveries in 2029 and 2030. The company’s third-quarter 2026 results showed record revenue of $13.06 billion, net income of $5.56 billion, and it now expects fourth-quarter sales of $15.9 billion to $17.0 billion. ASML also lifted its full-year revenue outlook to $44 billion to $45 billion and said its planned 2027 and 2028 capacity increases may still not be enough. The company confirmed it will raise prices starting in 2027, with the full impact arriving in 2028.
Why it matters
For chipmakers and their buyers, the queue is no longer limited to the next few quarters. ASML’s latest numbers and forecast show demand running well ahead of supply, which means customers may have to plan farther out and accept higher costs as 2027 pricing changes flow through in 2028.
