FedEx orders 2,000 electric trucks from Harbinger in $300 million deal
The order deepens an existing FedEx-Harbinger relationship and gives the startup its biggest bulk contract yet.
FedEx has placed a $300 million order for 2,000 electric trucks from Harbinger, a move that extends a relationship already underway and underscores the startup’s push from production into scale. Harbinger says it will hand over all 2,000 trucks by the end of next year, and the deal is its largest bulk order so far. The company was founded in 2022 by former employees of Anduril, Canoo, and QuantumScape, and FedEx also led Harbinger’s $160 million Series C round late last year. Harbinger says it has already delivered 53 trucks to FedEx from that earlier order, and it is now branching into hybrid emergency vehicles, autonomy, battery-pack storage sales, and defense applications.
Why it matters
For FedEx, the deal adds a larger electric-truck supply line as Harbinger moves from earlier deliveries to a much bigger rollout. For Harbinger, it is a signal that its fleet business is scaling beyond pilot-sized orders, while its work in emergency vehicles, autonomy, storage and defense points to a wider commercial push beyond trucks.
