Flox Intelligence opens $10 million Series A to scale wildlife deterrence AI

The Stockholm startup is looking to expand from hundreds of units to several thousand as it sells AI systems that keep animals away from infrastructure.

Flox Intelligence is turning wildlife deterrence into an AI and edge-computing product aimed at reducing collisions and delays around trains, roads, airports, and other infrastructure. The Stockholm startup, spun out of KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2020, uses on-device cameras and models to identify nearby animals and trigger species-specific sounds, while its software tracks deployments and supports compliance and biodiversity reporting. Nozkova says Flox has about 150 devices active across North America, Europe, and Australia, has raised about $5 million, and expects to finish 2026 with roughly $1.5 million in revenue. The company is also opening a $10 million Series A to scale from hundreds of units to several thousand and broaden the system beyond wildlife use cases.

Why it matters

For rail operators, airports and road owners, the product moves wildlife control from fixed deterrence toward a deployable system that detects animals on site and responds automatically. That matters because Flox says it already has devices live across three continents, suggesting the approach is moving beyond pilots into wider use, while the new funding is meant to extend that reach and broaden what the system can do.
