Ukraine strikes leave Yandex network traffic near zero
Cloudflare, NetBlocks and Yandex’s own status page point to a broad outage that has taken many services offline and cut traffic across the company’s network.
Ukraine’s drone strikes have sharply reduced traffic from Yandex’s network and left major parts of the Russian internet company’s infrastructure offline, according to Cloudflare, NetBlocks and Yandex’s own status page. Cloudflare says bot traffic from the Yandex network is now down to 0.4% of the highest level seen over the last two weeks, after falling to about 57% on Oct. 8 when a Yandex site in Sasovo was hit. A larger Yandex campus in Kaluga was then taken offline, and Yandex Cloud’s status reports at least 84 services down. NetBlocks separately says traffic has fallen to 30% for Yandex Cloud and 63% for Yandex LLC, suggesting broad service disruption for users in Russia.
Why it matters
For people using Yandex services in Russia, this is more than a temporary traffic dip: it points to a wider loss of reach and availability across the company’s cloud and internet infrastructure. Yandex Cloud says at least 84 services are down, while NetBlocks’ numbers show the disruption is affecting both cloud and non-cloud traffic. That means users and customers may find services unavailable or degraded, not just slower.
