AMD is expanding FSR 4.1 to older Radeon GPUs and Xbox hardware

FSR 4.1 is moving beyond AMD’s newest cards, with older Radeon and some Ryzen AI systems getting it now and Xbox support coming later.

AMD is rolling out FSR 4.1 beyond its newest Radeon cards, with support now reaching Radeon RX 6000-series GPUs and several Ryzen AI and handheld platforms, while Xbox consoles will get it later through device-specific updates. The company says the new version improves image quality over FSR 3 and will work in more than 300 games, including Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 6, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. AMD also says FSR Frame Generation should have better frame pacing, and FSR Ray Regeneration is expanding to more games, with support in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide available now. The release comes through Radeon 26.10.1 drivers for supported Radeon and PC devices, but Xbox and Ryzen Z2 handheld owners must wait for updates from their manufacturers. AMD originally shipped FSR 4.1 for Radeon RX 9000-series cards in March and had said it would extend the tech to older GPUs and handhelds this year.

Why it matters

This widens access to AMD’s latest upscaling features for owners of older Radeon GPUs and some Ryzen AI systems, instead of keeping them limited to the newest hardware. Xbox users will still have to wait for device-specific updates, so the rollout will be uneven across platforms. For supported Radeon and PC devices, the new Radeon 26.10.1 drivers are the path to getting it now.
