Otter.ai raises $320 million from General Catalyst fund

The deal gives Otter.ai capital for expansion without diluting equity, while it keeps testing new meeting features.

Otter.ai has raised $320 million from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund, a deal it says will support enterprise expansion, sales and marketing, overseas growth, and product work. The financing is structured so it does not dilute equity, with returns tied to how well marketing spend performs. Otter says 40 million people have used the product so far, up from 25 million last year, and it says it crossed $100 million in annual recurring revenue last year without giving a fresh ARR figure. The company is also pushing further into enterprise workflow automation with new features under test, including a pre-brief before meetings and a Live Assist tool for questions during calls.

Why it matters

For users and customers, the raise points to a company with more room to expand beyond its current base and keep investing in the product. Because the financing is tied to marketing outcomes rather than equity, Otter can fund growth without changing ownership, and the test features show it is still trying to make meetings more useful for enterprises and individual users alike.
